L’Opéra-Comique

Nestled in a small square away from the hustle and bustle of Boulevard des Italiens, the Opéra-Comique is one of Paris's best-kept secrets. Created under the reign of Louis XIV, it is one of France's oldest theatrical and musical institutions, alongside the Opéra de Paris and the Comédie-Française.

Opéra-comique is a specific type of musical performance. "Comique" does not mean that laughter is obligatory or even frequent.... but that sung arias are mixed with spoken theater. Comic opera therefore differs from opera, which is entirely sung.

Member offer: 10% discount on the following operas of the season, from category A to E:
Archipel(s), Isabelle Aboulker from April 28 to May 05, 2024
Armide, Jean-Baptiste Lully, from June 16 to 25, 2024
