In response to an invitation from the Musée de l’Orangerie, Ange Leccia has designed a video arrangement, (D') Après Monet. It offers a reading of the many meanings of Monet’s Water Lilies, from the genesis of this masterful work, and its relationship with Giverny, light, and seasons. The video arrangement composed by Ange Leccia also emphasizes the connection of Monet's work to American and European abstraction as well as to Japanese culture.
The title of the piece, (D') After Monet, expresses with extreme concision the ambition of the work conceived in 2020 by Ange Leccia. The reference “(D') Après” [inspired by] marks the homage to one of the main actors of the French artistic scene to the master of the previous century. It is also a look at the masterpiece of the Water Lilies and the founding principle it represents for many artists.
Leccia offers the viewer a sensitive and spiritual experience, a plunge into Monet's colorful and moving universe, a crossing in time.
The exhibition is now over.
