Nuit du Quatuor® 6th edition
From 8pm to 4am
Now a major event, the Night of the Quartet, organized jointly by the European Center for Chamber Music ProQuartet and the Musée de l'Orangerie, will offer the public new musical discoveries.
The new generation of European performers takes up the commissions of the catalog 50 for the Future initiated by the Kronos Quartet to compose unique programs highlighting masterpieces of the repertoire and contemporary treasures to discover.
In the midst of the rich visual discoveries and daring performances offered by the Nuit blanche 2022, come and explore the music of today.
The European chamber music center ProQuartet and the Musée de l'Orangerie have joined forces to offer nine performances that compare classical music masterpieces with new musical writing.
The common thread of the evening is a series of pieces commissioned by the famous Kronos Quartet as part of the project 50 for the Future, fifty commissions to fifty modern-day composers that they share with all performers of all generations.
An invitation to a seizable challenge extended by the musicians who will follow on from one another all night long in the magnificent Water Lilies room. As every year, the spotlight is placed on the young generation of European performers with the French Confluence, Elmire, Agate, Wassily and Métamorphoses quartets, the Italian Goldberg quartet and the Dutch Animato quartet. Alongside them, the Hermès and Zaïde quartets, who perform on all international stages, round off the program.
