Schools and extra-curricular associations

Within the framework of artistic and cultural education, the Musée de l'Orangerie runs a large number of visits for schools and recreational centres. These visits are adapted to different school levels, from the last year of nursery school to sixth form, or according to the children's age. The mediation is ensured by conference speakers from the Réunion des musées nationaux - Grand Palais and by visual artists.

Discovery visits are offered in order to explore the museum, its building, its history and the two exceptional ensembles that are Claude Monet's Nymphéas [Water Lilies] and the Walter-Guillaume collection. Educational workshops and artistic practice help supplement the approach to Impressionist painting and modern art. For secondary school and college students, the visit can be an opportunity to discover the collections in a more literary or inter-disciplinary manner. Lastly, themed visits are available and are designed to provide a deeper insight into the technical and specific aspects of the collections.

The Musée de l'Orangerie is open to groups with a reservation every day except on Tuesday and bank holidays from 9.15 am to 6 pm (last entry: 4.15 pm), departure of a single group every 15 min.
On Sunday, the museum welcomes groups from 9.15 am to 12.30 pm for unguided tours only.
No group visits are possible on the first Sunday of each month, nor on bank holidays.
