A tour of the exhibition Who’s Afraid of Women Photographers? offers families a look at the origins of photography and its technical and artistic development. They then continue their exploration of photography with a workshop where they produce a group portrait posed in the tradition of formal portraits, with various accessories available. The workshop leader takes a photograph of the family, which is then printed in black and white. Each member of the family is given a copy to touch up with charcoal, ink or watercolour, to give the photograph an artistic, old-fashioned appearance.
