You’re considered to be a group if there are 7 or more of you in addition to the person authorized to address the group.
Booking for groups is required in order to access the Musée de l'Orangerie, whether for a self-guided tour, a guided tour or an artistic practice workshop.

If the group exceeds the maximum size, it will be necessary to split it into two and therefore to book two visit slots.
Please note that the maximum size for groups visiting temporary exhibitions may vary depending on exhibition area and organization.
(1) The number of accompanying adults (including teachers) is included in the maximum number of pupils. It is fixed depending on grade level, at:
- 1 accompanying adult for every 8 nursery-school pupils (nursery-school classes are accepted on self-guided tours only)
- 1 accompanying adult pour every 10 primary and middle-school pupils
- 1 accompanying adult for every 15 high-school pupils.
For artistic practice workshops, the maximum number of participants is 29 people including accompanying adults.
(2) The number of accompanying adults (including facilitators) is counted in addition to the maximum number of children It is fixed depending on age, at:
- 1 accompanying adult for every 8 children under 6 years old
- 1 accompanying adult for every 12 children 6 years old and above
(3) For optimal visit comfort, we recommend limiting:
- The total number of participants to 15
- The number of people in wheelchairs to 5 per group
- The number of visually impaired people to 5 per group

When you book a self-guided tour, your own guide or a person from outside the Museum may only address the group if the following conditions are met.
Authorization to address a group is automatically granted to teachers in the context of school visits.
Such authorization is only valid for the visit booked and will be verified when you arrive. Please keep your proof of authorization with you throughout your visit.
For visits as from January 1, 2025, the procedure to follow is provided below:
1/ You must create a professional account in order to access the online booking platform dedicated to groups
2/ After validation of your account by our services, you’ll receive an email confirming your access to the booking platform
3/ You can then consult the services on offer and dates available and book your activity autonomously.
For paying bookings:
The purchaser must pay 30% of the total service in advance in order to be able to book the slot they have selected.
The balance due must be paid more than 30 days before the visit date in order to confirm the booking. If the balance is not received in due time, the booking will be canceled automatically on D-30 and the advance kept.
For free bookings:
The person making the booking requests a visit option when they choose a booking slot on the online platform.
The option must be confirmed more than 30 days before the visit date, otherwise the booking will be canceled automatically on D-30.
Once the person making the booking has confirmed their option, the visit slot becomes a firm booking.
All bookings less than 30 days old are firm bookings.

- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sundays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Unless otherwise stated, no bookings are possible on Tuesdays, Sunday afternoons, public holidays and certain days on which special events prevent the Museum from hosting groups.

Audiophones
For everyone’s optimal comfort, all groups must wear the audiophones supplied by the Museum. They ensure that wearers can hear the guide’s commentaries clearly without disturbing other visitors. All groups must go to the audiophones counter to pick them up. The person in charge of the group will be asked for an identity document in exchange for the equipment.
Lockers/cloakrooms
Cloakrooms are at groups’ disposal. Umbrellas and small backpacks must be left in them. In the context of the Vigipirate plan, no luggage or bulky objects are allowed inside the Museum. Before your visit, please view our safety instructions and house rules.
Loans of equipment to people with reduced mobility
Wheelchairs, folding seats and walking sticks usable on the Museum’s premises can be made available to anybody with reduced mobility in the group.
You can photograph, film, copy and make sketches as long as you comply with the following instructions.

Groups are welcomed at the main entrance. All groups are asked to arrive 15 minutes before their visit time so as to go through security checks and be welcomed and equipped with audiophones.
