Guided tour: Who’s Afraid of Women Photographers?

The tour looks at the place of women in the history of photography who played a more important role in this artistic medium than in the other traditional Fine Arts, and how they broke away from the idea that photography was no more than a mechanical/chemical technique for reproducing images, to be used exclusively by men. Often members of the wealthier classes, they mastered this technique very early on and became true professionals in this medium. From Julia Margaret Cameron to Alexandra Princess of Wales, all perfected an outstanding technique, and each developed her own personal style.

The tours will take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 4pm from 24 October 2015 to 20 January 2016.
